Before I got Daisy I was scared of dogs! We've had dogs before Daisy but they belonged to my brothers and sister! The licking can go on for quite a while with Daisy!

yeah, i want a dog so much. i need an alarm clock for those early college mornings. lol. but seriously, dogs are so clever, and can do so much, i would love one. it's just a shame my mum hates dogs, or i would have one

Oh yes, dogs are very cute like that. I have a cat now, but I was raised with dogs, and more than once I got woken up that way. I never allowed any of our dogs to lick my face, but of course they had to try and sneak it in there to wake me up. Sly creatures.

Our dogs have never been allowed in the bedrooms, so even though I've been round them and we've had them as pets all my life, I've never been woken up by them licking my face.

Not allowing dogs in the bedrooms? What is wrong with you people? Dogs are furry alarm clocks, they are furry hot water bottles in the winter and they are furry pillows and back supports the rest of the time. Dogs belong in beds, well, unless one is being pleasured at the time... or giving, or... anyway, dogs should deffinately be allowed anywhere in the house that is safe for them to be. If dogs are properly trained you can get them to ask permission before jumping on to a bed. It comes in quite handy. You can also send them to your bedroom and tell them to go lie down on the bed when they are being pesky, such as, at the dinner table or when company comes over. I love dogs, but I don't care for overly lickey breeds, like labs. Give me shepherds who give a currsory small lick and then are done with it. To, Candice, no. I. am. not. writing. a. book. Have a nice day all.

The dogs sleep where they choose here.
Scott stretched out on the sofa
Dougie sleeps with Alasdair, beside his bed.

I have always loved dogs. My golden retriever, Jackson, (just a pet), is six years old, and is starting to listen to me. He mostly minds my dad and my brother, when the latter is home from college. Jackson just sleeps wherever he likes, just not in my room, for some odd reason lol

Yeah what is wrong with you people! Daisy is allowed on my bed or any where else she so chooses to be! Dan I'm so sorry you can't have a dog! My dad didn't like dogs, but we always had one! My dad kept them out of my room! My brother's dog would sneak in there any way.

My friend has a dog named Buddy who knows how to open the doors in the house. Since they have handles instead of knobs, I guess this makes it easier for him. lol

Jackson just won't come in my room for some reason. He doesn't understand that I'm getting a guide dog, but he will when he sees me with the dog for the first time.

Both mum and my Grandparents don't allow dogs in our rooms because they don't want black, white and yellow hairs stuck all over the bed, soft chair or any other soft furnishings in our bedrooms. They are allowed outside on the landing.

O yeah, I now remember what else I was going to put in my last post, lollol. Mum had to turn all the door handles upside down in our flat when she had Carly, her Alsatian when I was a baby, because she could open any door with a door handle and of course, mum didn't want Carly crashing in to the bedroom when we were all asleep, or the bathroom when mum or dad were using the loo or having a bath or shower. If the door handles were all upside down, basically, Carly couldn't open any closed doors, lollol.

I have a dog named Gypsy. I got her from a friend of mine, and I beleive she has been abused. she's laying beside me on the floor as I am typing this. she isn't aloud on our beds either, but I make sure she has her own bed right next to mine, or at the foot of the bed. I freaked my aunt out once, because I asked her if she wanted to see my baby. she thought I had an actual baby! (LOL!) but it was my dog Gypsy. she's a mixed breed. part doxand, and something else. I better stop, you guys are probably sick of hearing about her now.

we have a dog named jade who was rescued from the pound. she is part bassenji and part retriever. not only does she bark like a retriever, but makes all those noises like bassenjis do. although described as the barkless breed bassenjis can yodle and yip like crazy. They are also part cat and can jump straight up and are challenging to train. our dog sleeps on the bed. one other thing you guys forgot to say that a dog is. we call ours the four legged treadmill. walking her is great for weight reduction.

Steven doesn't lick my face in the morning, but he does come by my bed if I'm not up to feed him at six. One time I was late in feeding him breakfast because i had to go to a water park later that day, and just felt like sleeping in. Anyway, I came out of my room at seven in the morning and he made this little reproachful growl at me like asking, "Why are you late with my food? lol He's a sweetie. lol

auwh! he does sound cute! Gypsy is sort of like that, but she takes her food at night. Mom has her spoiled though, because now days, she has to have a bowl of milk before bedtime. people say it isn't good for her, but I don't see where a little milk would hurt her.

Cow's milk is not good for their digestive system. They're only used to mother's milk when they're puppies, but even at six weeks, the mother will start to ween them off of it. I'd just stick to water before bed, and cold water at that.

Post 19 by Reyami (I've broken five thousand! any more awards going?) on Wednesday, 01-Aug-2007 10:46:08

and as for having to have a bowl of milk, I really don't think she needs it. As I said in my last post, it could make her sick.

My guide dog Luke gets sick if he eats any kind of Human food. He is a cross Labrador Retriever. He doesn't lick me in the morning he just stands beside my bed and whines and jumps around to tell me get up. I never had any dog before I got Luke. My family don't like animals.
